"Parco dei Caroselli" is a new urban park for the city of Rosolini, an opportunity for the revitalization of the city's edge. The concept is simple, Parco dei Caroselli integrates the territory and the city. It creates opportunities for growth by activating new social and cultural functions that benefit from processes regenerating abandoned and unconnected areas of the city. The urban edge is transformed and becomes a center, stitching together the urban fabric and establishing new physical, functional, and ecological connections with the city and the territory. The goal of the new park project is to create links between the upper part (Historical Center) and the lower part of the city (Via Paolo Orsi). The connection between the road axis, the Urban Park, and Piazza Padre Pio takes place through a pedestrian and cycle path that adapts throughout its length to the terraces, hosting various functions and creating sequences of green spaces. In addition to this walkway that acts as a guiding principle for the park, the project is characterized by specific elements distributed throughout the park and called "Caroselli", attractive and functional elements that redesign the city by creating new perspectives along the existing axes branching out from the historic center: the checkerboard expands and gives life to the urban park, erasing the edge. These elements are pavilions and installations made with light and reversible structures, hosting ever-changing functions related to various points within the park.
